If you’ve been following us, you know that we have a slight obsession with Palo Santo. We light it when we need to focus, change moods or get motivated. It’s become a nice ritual for us and it smells wonderfully smokey and sweet.
A follower recently told us they loved the smell of palo santo but don’t like lighting things in their home. Which got us thinking…
Soy Wax Flakes
Grapefruit Essential Oils
Microwaveable Safe Bowl
*Measurements will depend on how many melts you’re making and how strong you want the scent to be. We were surprised how fragrant the palo santo was in this form. Sometimes we have found it to be almost a little overbearing, a little goes a long way! (That being said, not all palo santo is made the same. Quality does matter.)
Grate palo santo with a microplane. We recommend using a microplane that you don’t cook with-palo santo leaves an oily residue that is hard to remove.
Place about half a tablespoon of palo santo into each silicone mold. The more you use the more fragrant it will be.
In a double boiler or low microwave melt soy wax flakes. Stir every minute or so. Careful not to over cook.
Let wax cool for about a minute and mix in about 30 drops of grapefruit essential oils.
Slowly pour wax into each mold.
Let wax fully chill for at least an hour. To speed up the process Carefully place in refrigerator.
Pop wax melts out.
Add to warmer & keep extras in cool/dry location.
Make a-DIY alcohol ink tray! It’s trippy, relaxing and perfect for palo santo!
Light it up, without having to light it up!
