We’re so excited to share our first Halloween projects of the season which we’re all made with Cricut’s fancy AF new tools!
The Cricut Maker is an electronic cutting machine. It works like a printer - create the image or design on the computer and then send it to the machine to cut!
But now, it’s so much more than a cutting machine. you can even do more with your Cricut Maker! The 4 new tools allow creators to utilize even more techniques and materials!
Perforation Blade: Create perfect tear‑offs and easy peel‑aways – even on curved shapes! Make interactive cards, coupon books & more.
Wavy Blade: Create a fun wavy edge on a variety of materials.
Engraving Tip: Create wow‑worthy moments with this pro‑level decorative effect. Turn any project into a keepsake with intricate engraved designs.
Fine Debossing Tip: Add professional polish and elevated elegance to paper crafts by creating crisp, detailed debossed designs.
The best thing about these 4 new tools are that they are part of the Maker’s QuickSwap suite! That means creators can quickly and easily move between tools as they complete their projects. Not only does this make it easier to create multi-dimensional projects, but it’s way more affordable!
Psychic Reading Acrylic Light Up Sign - Engraving Tip
We were most excited to try the Engraving tip and we couldn’t be happier with the end results. You can engrave a variety of flat materials, like soft metals, faux leather, acrylic, plastic and more. Write personalized text or create monograms, draw decorative flourishes and embellishments, or inscribe your favorite quotes on a keepsake!
We really wanted to show off the engraving - so we created a very detailed sign on Cricut Design Space and lit it up with an LED light to really make it pop!
Create design in Cricut Design Space and size to your liking.
Select the "Engrave" option from the Linetype dropdown menu.
Remove protective film on the top side of an acrylic sheet.
Tape acrylic sheet facing up on a standard grip mat using painter’s tape.
Load the machine and watch the Cricut do it’s engraving magic. (The machine will guide you through the process - even making sure the right tool is loaded.)
Carefully remove the acrylic from the mat and use a dry brush to remove loose shavings.
Measure LED lamp base and cut the bottom of the acrylic sheet with a plastic cutter to fit.
Peel off remaining protective sheet and light it up!
Metallic Human Anatomy Art - Fine Debossing Tip
Debossing is where the design is pushed into the material. It’s similar to the Engraving tool but doesn’t cut. It’s a rolling debossing ball with a wide range of motion that gives free reign to customize, personalize, and design with incredible intricacy. Add dimension to invitations, envelopes, home decor projects on all types of materials including paper, faux leather, basswood and more.
We created a project for the sophisticated Halloween lover on metallic poster board to really show off the intricate debossed lines!
We created a classic haunted house with ghosts and goblins lurking behind each tear away! Write a handwritten spooky greeting on the back and send it to your favorite ghoul friend!
You know we have a soft spot for anything vintage! As soon as we heard about the Wavy blade, we knew we wanted to create something vintage inspired. We came up with these tassels! Boo!
Use “Make it now” design on Cricut Design Space and size tassel to your liking.

Place single piece of crepe paper on light grip adhesive mat.
